The Problem

A Critical Gap in Cognitive Health Infrastructure

Cognitive decline is one of the most significant — and underserved — health challenges facing the global population.

01

Widespread Population Impact

Cognitive decline, dementia, and visual-cognitive impairment affect millions of older adults — as well as pilots, drivers, athletes, and individuals with reading deficiencies.

02

Inadequate Detection Tools

Existing diagnostic procedures are expensive, time-consuming, inaccessible, or administered too late for meaningful clinical intervention.

03

No Scalable Solution

The market lacks a validated, science-backed platform combining accessible early detection with measurable cognitive improvement at scale.

The Platform

An Integrated Cognitive Health Platform

Aerobics for Eyes is developing two complementary products built on decades of applied research and legacy intellectual property.

2025

VMdetect™

  • 5-minute, IRB-exempt screening procedure
  • Measures vision processing speed as a cognitive biomarker
  • Operable on any internet-connected device
  • Immediate results — no lab or clinic required
  • Applicable for monitoring dementia, stroke, autism, and brain trauma

2027

VMaerobics™

Cognitive Training & Performance Program

Scientific Foundation

Decades of Evidence. Independent Validation.

The platform rests on legacy intellectual property, internally conducted clinical studies, and findings consistent with landmark large-scale cognitive research.

87%

of participants improved Vision Processing Speed in the ACTIVE Study (JAMA, 2002)

2,832

volunteers aged 65–94 in the landmark ACTIVE randomized controlled trial

7–14 yrs

of expected cognitive decline equivalent reversed by training interventions

  • 10-minute 3D program delivered via standard web browser
  • Improves vision processing speed, working memory, and decision-making
  • Built on the original AfE U.S. Patent (1991)
  • Effectiveness validated against the landmark ACTIVE Study findings
  • Applied with: seniors, pilots, athletes, bus drivers, and children with reading disabilities
  • Scalable SaaS delivery model

Intellectual Property & Legacy

Built on a Proven Foundation

The platform is not a startup concept — it is the digital evolution of a validated methodology with a 30-year evidence trail, institutional citation record, and protected intellectual property.

Legacy IP

U.S. Patent issued 1991. Original 3D methodology developed to relieve computer eyestrain and improve visual-cognitive performance across diverse populations.

Clinical Studies

Internally conducted clinical studies across multiple populations. Cited by the Mayo Clinic, U.S. DOT, Air Force Reserve, University of Maryland, and NHTSA.

ACTIVE Study Alignment

Findings consistent with the ACTIVE Study (JAMA, 2002), demonstrating durable 87% improvement in Vision Processing Speed in adults aged 65–94.

Target Populations

Who the Platform Serves

Clinical & Healthcare

Seniors, dementia screening patients, stroke recovery patients, and individuals monitored for autism or brain trauma.

Performance-Critical Professionals

Pilots, commercial drivers, and athletes whose cognitive performance is safety-critical and subject to regulatory standards.

Educational

Children with reading disabilities where visual processing speed is a primary limiting factor in academic performance.

Scientific Overview

Built on Science. Proven by Research.

The VMaerobics platform is grounded in decades of applied visual-cognitive research, independent clinical studies, and landmark peer-reviewed findings.

Company Overview

Aerobics for Eyes, LLC

In the 1990s, Aerobics for Eyes developed a patented eye exercise program demonstrating measurable improvements in cognitive performance across diverse populations. Originally designed to relieve computer eyestrain, it was subsequently validated by independent research partners and cited by leading health and safety institutions.

Origin Program (1990s)

  • Relieves computer eyestrain
  • Improves cognitive ability in seniors, athletes, pilots, bus drivers, and children with reading disabilities
  • Cited by the Mayo Clinic and U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Protected by U.S. Patent (1991)

Institutional Citations

  • Mayo Clinic
  • U.S. Department of Transportation
  • U.S. Air Force Reserve
  • U.S. Air Force Academy
  • University of Maryland
  • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

2025

Study ParameterDetail
ObjectiveEvaluate three cognitive training interventions: vision processing speed, memory, and reasoning
Participants2,832 volunteers aged 65–94 years in the United States, with normal cognitive ability at baseline
Follow-upImprovements demonstrated as durable over a two-year follow-up period

Results by Intervention Domain

87%

Vision Processing Speed

Highest improvement rate — the domain most directly targeted by the AfE methodology

74%

Reasoning

Participants improved reasoning ability following structured training

26%

Memory

Measurable memory improvement observed over the two-year study period

Key Conclusion: Cognitive improvements through training were equivalent to reversing expected cognitive decline in elderly persons without dementia over a 7–14 year period.
